Thank you for coming to visit me at my webpage.  Blessings of happiness and joy to you.

I grew up in a small rural community in southwestern Missouri and attended William Woods College in another rural area in the center of the state, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics with a minor in Theater.  I chose to move to St. Louis because my intuition told me this is where I needed to be.  What a perfect place to be because I met and married my soul mate, and we started a family.

I was working for Engineered Air Systems. Inc., a defense contractor, and was laid off during a downturn in the industry, I decided to return to one of my loves, teaching.  I stayed out of the work force for eight years while I home schooled my two sons and started a community theater group.  I was privileged to be an active participant in the life of a church in an urban area of town.  We lived in an area which had been devastated by white flight and were struggling to keep the church alive.  Thirty years later we are still a small congregation and a vibrant part of the community.

When the tech bubble burst in the early 2000’s, my husband and I found ourselves a little low in the income area and I went back to work on the overnight shift at Places for People’s group home for persons with chronic mental illness.  I really learned a lot from the residents of the group home.  It is possible to survive and thrive in this life even when your mind does not always cooperate.  During this time, I kept up with my children’s education and remained connected to the church.  In 2005, my husband and I decided to purchase my mother-in-law’s home in a first-tier suburb when she needed to enter a skilled nursing facility.  I found that my mental health was becoming challenged by the stress of working in the group home.  My physician prescribed anti-anxiety medication for me, stating he himself could not do what I was doing for a living.

After much thought and discussions with my husband and my mom, I decided to enroll in a tax preparation class at H & R Block.  I found that I quickly learned the concepts, passed the exam, and was hired by H& R Block.  At the end of my first month, my district manager asked me to move to another store that had some issues.  She was not sure what it was but knew I could figure it out.  At the end of the next month the store manager said he wanted to retire and needed someone to replace him the next year.  He wanted me to be that person.  Our district manager concurred, and I was the manager the next year.  In that first year, I decreased customer service complaints to the district office by 98%.  I cannot tell you what I did differently, just that I did what I thought needed to be done.  With the shift to a new district manager a few years later.  I decided it was time to leave.

I then went to work for The Tax Firm, LLC.  This company had a couple of tax preparers in a previous year who prepared fraudulent returns and needed someone to set up a system for auditing the work of the preparers before submitting the returns to the IRS. Quite a challenge, but we did what needed to be done.  My supervisor told me on multiple occasions that I should consider being an Enrolled Agent.  This was a challenge to increase my skillset and two years later I was an Enrolled Agent.

I wanted to learn more than the coursework could teach me to represent people before the IRS, so I took a position with an attorney who had been a CPA and had been assisting clients to resolve tax debt for 25 years in the Troubled Taxpayer Unit of The Hunt Law Firm PC.  This was a wonderful chance to shorten the learning curve by working with someone who knew what she was doing.

I then decided to go it alone and work from home assisting people to shift their lives from tax debt to freedom.

Are you ready to settle your tax debt? If yes, please contact me and let’s talk about your situation?
